York 20kg Dumbbell Review

There’s not much to get excited about here. But what i wanted to point out is how much better than expected the  York 20kg Dumbbell set was.

I’ve used cheaper Dumbbell sets before  and my major problem was constantly having to tighten the spinning lock nut at the end of the bar, whether it was mid set or before / after use.

With the set i have now you get a plastic lock nut over a chrome metal version with a rubber washer to grip the plates. I tightened these on Christmas day and not had to re tighten since.

Lastly the handle is a very hard rubber which is moulded into the bar so there’s no spin from the plates when you lift. Over all its a good set for £35.

The picture below is an example of the Chrome set that you can get.

Sky Buy F1 Rights BBC Can Only Afford Half

I’ve watched F1 since i was a tiny little boy and I’ve also been to many British GP from around 1998 to maybe 2003, I can remember when ITV Bought the rights in the 90’s. ITV Broad-casted F1 from 1997 to 2009, which is when the BBC got a 5 year deal.

The BBC’s coverage over the past 2 years has been beyond expectation with the driver tracker and all sessions been streamed live on the BBC website. But in 2012 its all due to change.

Sky will broadcast everything Races, Qualy & Practise and the BBC will show HALF the races so around 12 races not 1/2 a race duration. As well as the Qualy and Practise sessions. But the will show key F1 races like British Monaco and the final race. What happens if i want to watch India and the BBC don’t show it then i shit out i guess.

I should be glad that the BBC has some of the races but i’m not going to be signing up to Sky to watch the other races.

The BBC has really shit out here i’m sure that they could of got the extra funding to buy all of the broadcasting rights.

Sky are saying that it brings F1 to a wider audience but everyone in the UK can watch F1 and i’m sure that the BBC also sell the broadcasting rights to other countries so that they can watch it.

So anyone in the UK that doesn’t have sky is going to be having a dilemma right now.

My thoughts i’ll probably watch the BBC showings but that will be it and i probably wont be 1/2 as interested as i would be normally.

Go Karting Can Picafort

While on holiday at Can Picafort I headed over to the local Go Kart track.

Go-Karting-Can-Picafort-Adult-KartI only paid 20 euro’s to have a go so I think I got around 10 laps and this was in one of their slower adult karts. But it was a pretty nice track to drive on and had a good mixture of flat out corners in the kart i was in, and then a few slower more complexed corners. The only down side was the second to last corner which seemed to have a slight rise and would result in a bit of a bump of you went in to tight. It would of been good to use the part of the track around the back of the garages as this offered 2 nice longs straights, but due to it been out of sight i guess it means more staff.

I was really impressed as the helmet i used was pretty clean and new looking and didn’t smell all sweaty like some karting places in the UK, another reason why I take my own helmet. Even all the karts where pretty clean and tidy with no major marks of battle damage on them.

Can Picafort Go Karting GarageWhen we left we had to walk through the garage to get to the mini bus and it was immaculate. There was at least 100 brand new helmets all in boxes waiting to be used. The floor didn’t have one oil stain on it and there was at least 2 karts that had there engines in bits and where on pit stands.
The Can Picafort Go Karting circuit was only 10 minutes down the road from my hotel which was at the center of Can Picafort. They even picked us up and dropped us of on their own mini bus.

Can Picafort Go Karting BarThere was a nice little cafe on site which was packed with photos of F1 legends like Schumacher, Hakkinen, Senna and Hill I don’t think I could see the walls for the pictures.

If I was to go to the Go Karting Can Picafort circut again then i would try and go for one of the faster karts as i just felt mine lacked that bit of power. The Fast karts have 25HP and do 120KMH compared to mine which did 75 KMH and had 7HP. If I had the option whilst i was there to upgrade then I think I would of done as i seem to remember that the cost wasn’t much.

Eddie Ilderton Referee

I’m not saying that refereeing a football game is easy as your constantly running about trying to keep the other officials in eye view but also watch at least 11 out of the 22 players on the pitch.

Last night i went to watch Leeds vs Leicester and Eddie Ilderton was the referee.

God it was awful, Eddie Ilderton is the worst referee that I’ve seen ever seen in 14 years of football and I’ve seen the great Pierluigi Collina.

He missed a blatent back pass to the Leicester goalkeeper Logan. he was feet away when this happened.

The Late Penalty that he gave to Leicester was more ball to hand as it bounced from the ground to the Leeds players arm.

Leicester Goal keeper Logan should of been of given a yellow card, one of their players fell after a corner and Logan tried to get the game stopped, after a few seconds he got back up and jogged off a bit, then it came back for a goal kick, the Leicester player sat back down again and Logan blatantly kicked the ball into the stand to stop play.

Again in the 2nd half a Leicester player clean wiped out Johnson out by clothes lining him, while they where running with the ball.

Its not only me that thinks Eddie Ilderton is poor check out a few quotes from a forum
